Hi everyone! This is Joey from the Service Beakers staff.
This month, I will be focusing on a staff spotlight with Everett Brostedt!
Everett is a first-year student at North Carolina State University in the University Honors Program, where he is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. In high school, he was involved in Science Olympiad, where he led his team to a first-place finish in the regional competition as a freshman.
“I have always loved science, and creating impact through science. It was a no-brainer choice to get involved with Service Beakers.”
Here at Service Beakers, Everett is our dedicated Director of Programs. He manages the internal operations of our two main programs—lessons and laptops—coordinating their operations, communications, and efficiency. His approach keeps our activities fresh and fun and our laptop grants flowing, and we can’t thank him enough for his efforts!
When he’s not working on Service Beakers, Everett loves swimming, running, and creating new builds in his garage. One of his favorite projects was creating his own motion sensored lights in his bathroom — “I wanted to make something that would turn on exactly when I needed it, without fumbling for switches.”
Everett’s favorite part of Service Beakers is seeing young students find hope and excitement through the educational opportunities provided by our laptops. Through his role, Everett hopes to inspire even more students to keep learning.
